Old Testament Track Meet Ruined After Abner's Javelin Hits Asahel in the Middle of the 3200

An Old Testament track meet was entirely ruined after Abner, an acclaimed thrower from Saul’s Cabinet Academy, threw his Javelin so far that it struck and went through Asahel Bar-Zeruiah, the kingdom leader in the 5k, while he was running the 3200. Asahel’s teammates, Joab and Abishai, reportedly confronted Abner after the incident. Abner has not been seen since.

The track officials were greatly troubled by the incident and made a statement later:

“We are shocked by this tragedy and for the family of Asahel. We believe this may have been an intentional attack and believe that the rivalry between Saul’s Academy and David High has gone too far”
