Home Box Office announced the release of a new crime show, “Waffle House After Dark, on their streaming service, HBO Max. Production Manager Margaret Turist excitedly explained how they came up with the newest of many great true-crime television series: “There are so many flat, boring true crime shows that focus on police intervention and murders. We decided to take a dynamic look at one of the most high-traffic crime areas–a Waffle House 24-hour diner. Each episode will interview employees about the most memorable fights, robberies and syrup-stained murders. Every season will be capped off with an “All Star Special” double episode. Our first episode, entitled “Potheads and Hotheads in Portland” will be released sometime in late October.”
At publishing time, Waffle House was slightly offended by the idea but were eager to accept any revenue they got from the show.
