Sources have confirmed that small baby zombies have finally gained the right to be jockeys at the 2025 Kentucky Derby. The IFHA (International Federation of Horseracing Authorities) announced on Friday that for the first time in its history, the Kentucky Derby will now allow Baby Zombies to race their chickens against the elite horses in order to be inclusive. When asked about the decision, Jim Gogliano, chair of the US Jockey Club stated, “We are very excited to give the opportunity for everyone, no matter their species, to compete in the most important race in the world. Baby Zombies have a deep cultural history of competitive farm animal racing, so in order to celebrate diversity and inclusion, we invited them to this year’s Kentucky Derby.”
Support for these adorable, green-skinned beings has skyrocketed in the last month, with thousands of images of the “chicken jockeys” being posted across social media, especially among the young male demographics.
The other horse jockeys are enthusiastic about this decision, although some are concerned about the biological advantages the chickens may have. One Jockey, Ralph Goodman, shared his support, “I hope everybody sees this as a heartwarming example of equity in sports” and followed it up with a rousing “ CHICKEN JOCKEY!!!!!!”.
At publishing time, authorities decided to replace KFC’s sponsorship deal with a more local option “Steve’s Lava Chickens”
